Baylor University’s Department of Film & Digital Media invites applications for a lecturer position in Film & Digital Media. The department seeks a generalist who can teach a range of undergraduate courses in media production, history, technology, and theory as well as courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, which might include visual effects, game development, or other relevant topics. The department seeks applicants who are passionate about teaching and who will strengthen the department’s programs.
With more than 200 undergraduate majors, the Department of Film & Digital Media offers coursework leading to the B.A. in Film & Digital Media, with a strong emphasis in media production,but also with areas of specialization in writing, film theory, advanced digital technologies, and media effects. The Film & Digital Media faculty prides itself on excellence in teaching and research/creative scholarship as well as a collegial work environment. The department also partners with the Department of Communication to offer a thriving M.A. in the field.
M.F.A. or Ph.D. in an appropriate field of study is preferred, but candidates with the M.A. will also be considered. You will be asked to provide a letter of interest; curriculum vitae; a list of three references in the application process, and copy of an official transcript showing the highest degree conferred. If the Ph.D. is in progress, a copy of the official transcript of completed Ph.D. hours should also be submitted.
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
